In the latest development, Jalandhar’s Police Commissioner IPS Kuldeep Chahal has now come under the scanner of the Central Bureau of Investigation. Reportedly, CBI has sent notice to IPS officer regarding an investigation going on against him. An investigation has been initiated against IPS Kuldeep Chahal in a corruption case.
The sources have revealed that CBI has issued notice to IPS Kuldeep Chahal for further questions in corruption charges case. Any development in the investigation can result in increase of problems for Jalandhar’s Police Commissioner. The investigation has been initiated against him on complaint issued by Punjab’s Governor Banwari Lal Purohit.
For the unversed, there have been allegations against IPS Kuldeep Chahal for protecting a senior officer of The Elenate Mall situated in Chandigarh in a case of physical abuse. On getting to know about this, Banwari Lal Purohit relieved him from the post of SSP, Chandigarh. Then On December 14 2022, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit issued a letter to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, saying there was a complaint of serious misconduct against Kuldeep Chahal.
