Woman in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir givesbirth in an Army vehicle while on the way to a hospital. The road was blockedowing to heavy snow fall. The lady and baby were later admitted to a hospital,according to an official defence spokesperson.
Kalaroos Company Commander received a distress call inthe wee hours on Monday. Asha worker said the lady in Narikoot was in lanourpain and needed immediate evacuation. An ambulance could be come due tosnowfall.
Army vehicle accompanied by a medical team came to theirrescue at Narikoot. While on their way to the hospital, the Asha workers andthe medical team suggested that the condition of the patient is serious, theyinsisted to park the car.
The woman delivered in the army vehicle with the help of anhealth team of Army. The Asha workers was later lauded for her courage andpresence of mind during odd circumstances and the Company Commandercongratulated the family.
