In a befitting act of respect and appreciation towards the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Railways organized a special function under the aegis of the Jammu Division on May 16.
As one of these special tributes, benches at major railway stations within the Jammu Division, including Jammu, Samba, Mukerian, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, and Kathua, were coloured in the uniform colours of the Indian Army. The benches also had inscriptions expressing admiration of the bravery and sacrifice of Indian troops, which served as a symbol of national valour and pride.
This campaign was carried out under the guidance of Jammu Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Vivek Kumar. Talking about the event, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager said that this is a praiseworthy initiative taken by Indian Railways to offer tributes to the gallant soldiers who serve and protect the nation.
The tribute not only indicates the railway's commitment to paying homage to the armed forces but also reminds the people of the sacrifices of India's valiant soldiers.
