
Jamshedpur: Police on Wednesday sent the parents of four-year-old girl to jail in Barigora under the Parsudih police station area of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. While the post-mortem of the girl's body was done by the police. A case of murder has been registered against the girl's father Uttam Maity and mother Anjana Mahato.
It is to be known that due to not studying, the parents had tied the hands and feet of the girl and beat her fiercely. Due to this, she died. The girl's body was thrown into the bushes by the parents from a moving train between Galudih and Rakha Mines railway station. The body of the girl was recovered by the police late in the evening of July 5. The dead body of the girl was scavenged by the animals.
Both the accused had a second marriage: During the interrogation of the police, it has been found that both the mother and father of the girl had married twice. The girl who died was Anjana and her first husband's daughter. Uttam had left his first wife for some reason.
While Anjana also left her first husband. Uttam and Anjana met while working, after which the days got married. For the last three months, both were living in a rented house in Parsudih. The exact reason behind the murder of the child has not been disclosed.
The police suspect that the girl was murdered for some other reason. But the girl's parents have told the police about beating her for not studying.
The girl's parents had not returned home since then. When both of them returned home on July 4, the child was not with them. When neighbours got suspicious, the information was given to the police. The whole matter came to light after the police questioned the parents of the girl child. At the behest of the parents, the police recovered the girl's body from the bushes on the side of the railway track.
