When is Janmashtmi 2022?
Janmashtmi 2022 will be celebrated for two days. Shri Krishna Janmashtmi 2022 dates are August 18 and August 19. Talking about Janmashtmi Vrat, some people will observe fast on August 18, while some on August 19. As per the Hindu Calender, Krishna Janmashtmi is celebrated on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapath (Bhaado).
Janmashtmi 2022 Subhmuhurat- Ashtami Tithi will begin on August 18 at 9:20 PM (IST), while it will end on August 19 at 10:59 PM (IST). Following the end of Ashtami Tithi, Rohini Nakshatra will start on August 20 at 1:53 AM, while it will end on August 21 at 4:40 AM.
For those still wondering when to celebrate Janmashtmi i.e. whether on August 18 or August 19, here's the answer-
This year, Ashtami Tithi is commencing at 9:20 PM on August 18 and will end on August 19 at 10:59 PM, therefore it will be celebrated on both days. However, as per multiple astrologers, the Janmashtmi Vrat should be held on August 19 as Ashtami Tithi will be Uday Tithi on that particular day.
It is pertinent to mention here that Lord Krishna was born in Rohini Nakshatra, however, this year, Rohini Nakshatra is not falling on Ashtami Tithi.
