In a major development, Jeff Bezos, who is known to be the founder of Amazon, has got married to journalist Lauren Sánchez. Their wedding has been celebrated as a grand event and reports have suggested that it is a multi-day wedding hosted in Venice, Italy.
Because of many obvious reasons, this event has drawn international attention for its estimated costs, high-profile guest list and the huge scale of the event.
According to the news daily Mint, the total cost of the celebration was between €40 and €48 million, which approximately costs Rs 430 crore. To be noted, this statement was confirmed by Veneto regional president Luca Zaia.
Several reports also claimed that the couple is also planning to make a charitable contribution, which also includes a major contribution of €1 million towards Corilla, which is a Venice-based research group that has been working towards a lagoon conservation.
Notably, the major details of the wedding have remained under wraps. However, a recent report by Reuters has mentioned that the main event will take place at the historic Arsenale, a centuries-old former naval complex which only witnesses the happening of private functions.
It is worth mentioning that the reports have claimed that this major event has resulted in a surge of private jet traffic as it is said that 90 jets are expected to land at airports in Venice, Terviso and Verona.

Not just this, the couple will be staying in luxury hotels such as Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca Island. Along with this, Aman Venice on the Grand Canal has been booked to host around 200-250 guests, who will be attending the couple’s wedding. It is worth mentioning that before this, the wedding of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin was hosted at Aman Venice in the year 2014.
