Jim Sarbh misses out on Best Actor Emmy Awards to Martin Freeman; Rocket Boys actor reacts

Jim Sarbh was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor for his role as Indian physicist Homi J Bhabha, in the series Rocket Boys.

The results of the 51st International Emmy Awards have been declared, with a respectful showing of India in the esteemed TV awarding ceremony, scoring multiple nominations and winning across various categories. Jim Sarbh and Shefali Shah lost their respective categories whereas Vir Das won the Best Comedy award and Ektaa R Kapoor was felicitated with the prestigious International Emmy Directorate Award. Jim Srabh was among the top contenders of India nominated to portray the late nuclear scientist Dr. Homi J Bhabha in Rocket Boys. 

 

The Ceremony took place on November 20 in New York City and was livestreamed in India on November 21 at 6:30 A.M. IST.   Actor Jim Sarbh was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor for his role as Indian physicist Homi J Bhabha, in the series Rocket Boys,  but unfortunately lost to an equally worthy performance by Martin Freeman in the UK series Responders. 

 

Reacting to Emmys 2023 loss, Jim Srabh took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "No Luck folks."

 

Indian Comedian Vir Das won the Emmy for the Best Comedy Series for his Netflix series, ‘Vir Das: Landing’ but had to share his award with UK TV series Derry Girls Season 3. “For India, For Indian Comedy. Every breath, every word.” Das posted on Twitter (X) and Instagram. 

 

Producer Ektaa R. Kapoor was felicitated with the International Emmy Directorate Award at the awards ceremony. “This is not just a win for me but for every woman who aspires to break barriers in the world of filmmaking🙌”, Kapoor posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). Ektaa R Kapoor is the joint managing director and creative head of Balaji Telefilms Limited, which was founded in 1994.
