Indian Telecom giant Jio unveiled its maiden laptop JioBook at the recently concluded India Mobile Congress (IMC 2022) soon after the launch Jio’s laptop got listed in the government e-marketplace (GeM).

Besides that, the laptop was available on the Jio Booth at the IMC which is an annual telecom ad technology event. However, it is only available for government department employees via Gem.

But what is the buzz all around JioBook that what is so unique about Jio’s latest and price efficient product, a detailed look on it?

Specifications:

As per the listing at GeM, the JioBook is enabled to function through a Qualcomm snapdragon 665 processor and Adreno 610 graphics. It comes with an inbuilt 2GB RAM and an ordinary 32GB internal storage (eMMC), which is expandable through a microSD card.

The laptop bears a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 (HD) with a size of 11.6 inches and an anti-glare cover. It boosts the ‘JioOS’ operating system which many tech experts say will be based on Google ChromeOS or Microsoft Windows.

The JioBook will have a dual-speaker system, two microphones, and a standard non-backlit keyboard. The laptop holds an in-built 4G connectivity, USB-A 2.0 & 3.0 ports, HDMI, and Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 5.0.

The laptop has an HD webcam placed on the top screen bezel area powered by a 55.1-60 AH battery and is expected to last for eight long hours.

The brand’s logo on JioBook is made up of plastic on the top. On the day of its launch, JioBook was launched in just Blue Colour with only 10 units being listed on the GeM.

The laptop is expected to have pre-installed Jio applications, many reports suggest that the JioBook will be supported with yet to launched Jio Cloud PC platform, which was announced by the telecom giants at the company’s 45th Annual General Meeting.

Availability for the general public and price:

JioBook will be made available for the common people by Diwali which falls in the month’s last week, but is currently available for the government employees at the GeM. The buzz around the laptop is around its price which is made available at a meager price of Rs 19, 500
