Canada is one of the top countries where international students and immigrants shift in order to seek new opportunities and quality education. Canada is a popular destination, especially for Indians. In fact, the North American country is also known as 'mini Punjab' due to lakhs of Sikhs students and people shiting there every year. However, it seems like all is not well in Canada as people were seen standing in a long queue outside a Brampton grocery store for an alleged job fair. A video is doing rounds on social media showing people including international students standing in a very long queue outside a Fortinos store on Mountain ash Rd., near Bovaird Dr. E.

Canada's long queue video is spreading like wildfire on social media which alleges that there has been a decline in jobs in the North American country. In the viral video, it can be seen hundreds, apparently, thousands of people standing in a long queue waiting for their turn to represent themselves at the job fair at Brampton Fortinos store. Notably, social media users have been flagging this and tagging Canadian PM Justin Trudeau over lack of jo bs in the country.

A user wrote, "Man shows the length of the line up for a job fair at fortinos in Brampton."

Another user wrote, "Hundreds of international students lined up for hours outside a Brampton Fortinos in hopes of finding a job"

One more user wrote, "Huge job fair lineup around the block at a grocery store in Brampton| in Brampton... currently several positions posted for #Fortinos in #Brampton, including a part-time clerk, assistant store manager & bakery manager."

"5 jobs available and over 1000 ppl in line at a Fortino's in Brampton. What labour shortage?" added another user.

Job decline in Canada?

A news daily quoted an immigration businessman in Canada saying that the North American country is witnessing a significant shortage of small jobs. Cities like Brampton, Ontario and Surrey, British Columbia are the cities most commonly associated with Indian immigrants to Canada, however, due to the shortage of small jobs, people have been witnessing difficulties. Interestingly, in April 2023, a report suggested that Canada needs 30,000 permanent immigrants over the next decade to either start up their own farms, or take over existing ones, to address a looming labour crisis in the agriculture industry. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) research stated that 40 percent of Canadian farm operators will retire by 2033, placing agriculture on the cusp of one of the biggest labour and leadership transitions in the country's history.
