American actor, producer and musician, Johnny Depp spoke about his fall in the film industry because of the on-going legal battle with his now ex-wife Amber Heard.
In the past the, Depp was celebrated for his work and contribution to the industry. The actor called out Hollywood for the ‘absurdity of media mathematics.’
Last year Depp had been accused of domestic violence by his then wife and now ex-wife Amber Heard. The legal battle between Depp’s lawyer and his wife’s lawyer was lost by him which brought him a lot of negative publicity.
The British tabloid named The Sun referred to him in his article as the ‘wife beater.’ Even though Depp denied the allegations, the incidents in the article were later proved to be true.
The judge also found that, out of the 14 cases of domestic violence incidents which were reported, 12 of them were true and had actually happened.
Depp then had to go through a lot in his work, he had to move the release date of the film from February 2021 to be announced category.
The actor later went on to quit his leading role in the Warner Bros’ Fantastic Beasts franchise. He later mentioned in an interview about why he had to make that decision, “ some films touch people and this affects those in ‘Minamata’ and people who experience similar things… And for anything…. for Hollywood’s boycott of me?

The two got separated last year where they had months of fights and in the allegations against each other, both stated bad behavior. Although there was a lot of chaos, the divorce was settled and the two split.
