Junagadh flood video: Cloudburst in Gujarat's city, scary footages show 14-inch rain in 4 hours

While the majority of Northern India witnessed a flood-like situation a few days back due to incessant rain, an incident of cloudburst in Gujarat's Junagadh was reported on Saturday. Junagadh cloudburst incident took place on Saturday in the afternoon which resulted in the city submerging into the water and a threat of flood looming over it. Reports suggest that Junagadh witnessed a massive 14-inch rain in a span of only 4 hours.With multiple cities and districts of Gujarat are facing heavy incessant rainfall, the IMD has issued alerts. To be precise, IMD has issued a ‘red alert’ for Valsad, Bhavnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, ‘orange alert’ for Ahmedabad, Anand, Bharuch, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Amreli, Jamnagar, Gir Somnath, Kutch and ‘yellow’ alert for Surendranagar, Dahod, Junagadh, Rajkot, Botad, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari. The weather alerts will be operational till 24 July. Now, Junagadh flood videos are doing rounds on social media with netizens expressing their concern after watching multiple scary clips.

In one of the Junagadh flood videos, water with a high current can be seen entering a residential area. The current of the flooding water was so high that cars parked in Junagadh residential area were seen swept away. As per reports, the city registered 8 inches of rain in just 4 hours. At the same time, 14 inches of rain has been recorded in the Girnar mountain region. When the water flowing from the mountains reached the city of Junagadh, there was a flood. The low-lying areas of the city have been flooded up to 5 feet. The NDRF team is currently engaged in evacuating the people trapped in the flood. In another video which is getting viral on social media, many cattles were seen sweeping away in the strong currents of the flood water in Junagadh.

As per reports, Gujarat has been witnessing incessant torrential rain resulting in floods in low-lying regions of Saurashtra and Kutch on Wednesday. Furthermore, Rajkot faced severe waterlogging due to continuous and heavy rainfall on Thursday. Not only this, but earlier in the week, the devastating impact of the ongoing rains led to three fatalities. Among these incidents, two deaths occurred in Surendranagar district, and one was reported in Rajkot district. It is pertinent to mention here that states like Punjab, New Delhi, Uttarakhand have witnessed flood-like situation a few days back as well.
