Justin Trudea's publically calling out India in the House of Commons over the killing of a Canadian Citizen Hardeep Nijjar (most wanted in India) without any proof is turning out to be firing back as the Canadian PM is clearly losing his popularity and relevance among the citizens. While many believed that the Canadian PM's soft support to Khalistan may raise his popularity and earn him minority votes, the latest survey by Canadian media Global News clearly states that Justin Trudeau is losing badly on his home soil. It means Trudeau's attempt to get more votes to remain in power has gone horribly wrong as a survey conducted by IBSO for the aforementioned Canadian media stated that he is lagging behind the current opposition leader Pierre Poilievre

As per the survey, Canadians see opposition leader Pierre Poilievre as the best candidate for PM. In the survey, 39% of people considered him eligible for the post of PM. Whereas only 30% of votes were cast in favor of Trudeau. It is pertinent to mention here that the General Elections are to be held in Canada in 2025. It is pertinent to mention here that Justin Trudea's Liberal Party did not get the majority in the last General Election as a result, his party had to hold the hands of Jagmeet Singh in order to fulfill the quorum and return to power. Notably, Jagmeet Singh has been accused of supporting Khalistani outfits that are according to India are anti-national.

Another fact is Trudeau's tilt to Khalistani outfits came after he has been facing flak from his countrymen over inflation, unemployment, expensive housing taxes and more. Apart from this, Punjabis account for 2.6% of Canada’s total population, with a figure of about 950,000. 770,000 out of these are Sikhs, marking significant representation. Hence, it is quite evident that Trudeau is looking score some brownie points by winning Sikhs votes in the country in order to remain in power.

Pierre Poilievre had reacted to the Canadian PM's accusation on India by saying, "The prime minister hasn't provided any facts. He provided a statement. And I will just emphasize that he didn't tell me any more in private than he told Canadians in public. So we want to see more information..We need to have the evidence that drew that allowed the prime minister to come to the conclusions he made yesterday..I would have to have more evidence to make a judgment on that. I do find it interesting that he knew about vast foreign interference by Beijing for many years, at the same time as Beijing had kept two Canadian citizens hostage. And he said nothing. And he did nothing. Just very interesting that that was the approach he took in that case."
