Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 In Trouble,Lyca Productions moves Madras HC

Lyca asks Madras HC to restrain Shankar from working in other films.The Madras High Court reportedly refused to grant an interim injunction barring director Shankar from directing other films, stating that orders could only be issued after hearing the director's side.

Lyca Productions has filed a case against director Shankar in the Madras High Court, requesting that he refrain from directing any other films until the completion of the Kamal Haasan-starrer 'Indian 2'.



The leading production house stated in its petition that the initial budget for 'Indian 2' was Rs. 150 Crores, but Rs. 236 Crores have been spent to date. A salary of Rs. 40 Crores has been set for director Shankar, and Rs. 14 Crores has already been paid to him.





However, Justice PT Asha refused to issue an interim injunction preventing Shankar from directing the other films in the meantime. The judge stated that orders could only be issued after hearing the director's side of a story. A notice has been sent to the director, and a response is due by April 15.

Well, director Shankar, who has already announced his project with Tollywood superstar Ram Charan titled #RC15, is yet to comment on the ongoing issue.The director, known for his large-scale productions, has agreed to direct Ram Charan Teja in a new film produced by Dil Raju. He has also made an agreement for a new Hindi film starring Ranveer Singh.

The discussions for a sequel to the 1996 film Indian began in September 2017, with the director making the announcement during the finale of the Tamil reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Kamal Haasan. Kamal, who played the lead in the first Indian film, has announced that he will play his role as the hero in Indian 2. Lyca Productions took over the film from another production company in October 2017.

The film features Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead, alongside Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth and Vivek in pivotal roles. The plot of the film will revolve around the fight against corruption, with political overtones. According to reports, the team had compleated 60 percent of its shoot.
