In a major update in the Ludhiana influencer Kamal Kaur Bhabhi aka Kanchan Kumari's murder, Bathinda Police has arrested Nihang Amritpal Meharon's associates. The two arrested in Kamal Kaur Bhabhi's murder are allegedly linked to Nihang Amritpal Meharon. Investigators believe the duo conspired with Nihang Amritpal Meharon to murder Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, aka Kanchan Kumari. Notably, while a few reports suggest that the police have also arrested Nihang Amritpal Meharon, a few have confirmed that till now only two have been arrested.
One of the arrested suspects hails from Harike village in Patti, Tarn Taran district, while the other is from Meharon village in Moga district. Notably, Amritpal Meharon had previously threatened Kamal Kaur online for sharing obscene content on social media. According to reports, the Police have announced that a press conference will be held soon to disclose further details about the case and the ongoing investigation.
It is important to note that Amritpal Meharon’s name has surfaced in earlier cases involving threats to other social media influencers. He himself maintains an active presence on various platforms. However, Amritpal Meharon's Instagram account has been withheld in India on the government's request.
For the unversed, in 2022, Nihang Amritpal Meharon who is a resident of Mehron village in Moga, was booked for allegedly making threatening remarks against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
Kamal Kaur Bhabhi Murder Case
Kamal Kaur, a resident of Ludhiana, had gained popularity and also notoriety for her controversial and explicit Instagram reels. She had amassed a following of 386,000 followers on the platform. As per reports, around seven months ago, the influencer received death threats from terrorist Arsh Dalla over her obscene content.
As per the information received, Sandeep Singh, a volunteer from Sahara Jan Seva Sanstha, reported receiving a call on Wednesday night regarding a suspicious foul smell coming from a parked car in the hospital lot. Upon arriving at the scene, he found a locked Hyundai Eon vehicle, and inside was the decomposed body of a woman. Police were called to the scene and, upon unlocking the car, found a handbag and purse but no identification documents.
Reports further suggest that Police officer Narinder Singh, who arrived at the spot, stated that the car had reportedly been parked there since Tuesday. Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder may have taken place elsewhere, and the body was then dumped at the hospital parking lot.
As per reports, Kamal Kaur had left Ludhiana on Monday after informing her family that she was going to attend a promotional event in Bathinda.The body of Kamal, a resident of Lachman Colony in Ludhiana, was found on the rear seat of her car on Wednesday night. She was cremated in Bathinda after a post-mortem on Thursday, as the family was unable to take the body to Ludhiana in such a mutilated condition.
