Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Thursday attended an event to launch her new reality show Lock Upp, which she will be the host of.  Apart from Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, film-maker and producer Ekta Kapoor was also present. Ekta Kapoor is the producer of the upcoming reality show lock Upp. However, the press conference of Lock Upp took a tense turn when Kangana Ranaut got involved in a war of words with a journalist.

The 'Queen' actress lost her calm when she was asked by the journalist about her take on an influencer shaming Deepika for her ‘hemlines and necklines’ during the Gehraiyaan promotions. Fumed by her question on Deepika Padukone's controversy, Kangana rapped the journalist and said, "Look, I am here to defend those who can’t defend themselves. Alright? She can defend herself. She has the privilege, the platform and I can’t promote her film here. Sit down."

However, the journalist tried to counter Kangana and said that her intention was not to promote Deepika Padukone's film. On that Kangana replied, "Of course, you named the film. You are also naming a film which is coming. Obviously, you are being planted by the PRs of the said film. Arre yaar, hum itne bhi toh naadaan nahi hai na (I am not so naive). Do it outside, I will engage with you for 45 minutes."

However, Ekta Kapoor tried to cool up the heated press conference and stated that 'This is a different press conference my friend'.

It is pertinent to mention here that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's altercation with journalists in a press conference is not new. Back in 2019, Kangana had a heated exchange with a journalist during the Judgementall Hai Kya press conference. Kangana had accused the journalist of running a ‘smear campaign’ against her. A section of the media retaliated by announcing a boycott against her.
