A slipper was hurled by a fan at Kannada actor Darshan Thogudeepa on Sunday when he was promoting his upcoming movie 'Kranti'. Darshan Thogudeepa has been under fire over his controversial remarks which the fans felt were sexist in nature. Now, the Darshan Thogudeepa slipper attack video has been going viral on social media, and South actors including Kichcha Sudeep are not happy.

In the Darshan Thogudeepa slipper attack viral video, cops were seen around the Kranti actor immediately after a slipper was hurled at him. After the slipper hit his shoulder, Darshan said, "It is not your mistake brother, no problem" and tried to calm down his angry fans in the gathering. The actor immediately left the scene with police protection. Darshan was in Hosapete for the release of a song from his upcoming film "Kranti", which is scheduled to hit screens on January 26. He also garlanded the statue of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar in the town. The movie is directed by V Harikrishna. Actress Rachita Ram is acting opposite Darshan in this film.

As per reports, an alleged fan of Puneeth Rajkumar hurled a slipper at the actor. Late Puneeth's elder brother and actor Shiva Rajkumar condemned the act.

Why is Darshan Thogudeepa facing anger?

Recently, an undated video of Darshan went viral recently in which he was heard saying, "Goddess of Luck doesn't knock on the door always. When she knocks, grab her, drag her into your bedroom and strip her naked. If you give her clothes, she will go out." The actor's comments did not go down well with the netizens. Many called him out for his insensitive remarks and trolled him brutally.
