A young man from Kapurthala has been hospitalized for insomnia and depression caused by excessive use of his mobile phone, leading to him jumping from a wall in his workplace premises.

A young man has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala for treatment after suffering from insomnia and depression due to excessive use of his mobile phone. Identified as Ranjit Manjhi, the victim had not slept for the last 7-8 days and had become mentally disturbed, with his behavior becoming irritable. On Friday night, he climbed the wall in the PTU ground and jumped, injuring himself badly.

According to Dr. Sandeep Dhawan, the SMO at the hospital, the patient's condition has slightly improved, but he is still being treated. It is common for patients who suffer from insomnia and depression due to excessive mobile phone use to experience weak nerves in their brain and become irritable. They may start to remain mentally disturbed and require medical attention.
