Kapurthala Police solves Kapoor Petrol Pump robbery case, stolen items recovered

The continued close investigation by police led to the busting of robbery at Kapoor Petrol Pump Phagwara and arrested three accused.


The arrested accused have been identified as Sivam alias Kaka, resident of Daddal Mohalla Phagwara, Jugesh Kalra, resident of Khalwara Gate and Anshu Sarma, resident of village Dosanj Kalan. 


Disclosing further details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that under the supervision of Phagwara SP Sarabjit Singh Bahia, CIA Staff Phagwara Incharge Sikandar Singh Virk had formed different teams and a Naka was installed in the area along with the Technical Cell Kapurthala, near Dusanjhan Puli Urban  Estate.

He said that at a checkpoint, a motorcycle bearing number (PB -36-J-2073) was driven by Sivam along with pillions Jugesh and Anshu. The cops stopped them and frisked which led to the recovery of a county-made pistol .315 bore and two live cartridges from their possession.  


SSP said that they had snatched Rs. 30,000 from an employee at an Indian petrol pump, Phagwara. He added that a case under sections 379 - B IPC 25,27,49-59 A Act was registered in Police Station City Phagwara on the statement of Surjit Lal of Chachoki.

SSP told in-depth probe revealed that the aforesaid accused had procured country made pistol .315 bore and two cartridges from Sandeep Kumar, a resident of NRI Colony Phagwara. 


The loot was carried out by the three of them and distributed the looted money equally which they had spent on the Diwali festival.


The SSP said that the police team would produce them before the magistrate and would seek their police remand for further investigation.
