
Karti Chidambaram is a son of senior Congress leader PChidambaram. He has been allowed to travel abroad by the apex court on Monday.
The Supreme Court order has come with riders becauseKarti is being investigated by Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureauof Investigations (CBI).
Karti will have to submit detialed itinerary with Rs 2crore as a security deposit for travelling abroad. A bench headed by JusticeAshok Bhushan has directed him to deposit Rs 2 crore including other detailsand registry.
Karti can now travel for six months after depositing thesaid amount in a nationalised bank. Earlier he was also allowed to travelabroad but only by depositing Rs 10 crore with the secretary general of theSupreme Court.
Karti is facing cases related to Aircel-Maxis deal andthe Foreign Investment Promotion Board in the INX media case for receivingforeign funds of Rs 305 crores.
