The attack in Pahalgam has rocked the entire nation to its core, leaving behind rage, cries & and lingering fear (of again losing the lives of innocent citizens). After the attack, it is crystal clear that the terrorists targeted tourists, aiming to harm the tourism sector in the valley. Now, this leads us to question whether the Vande Bharat train will run in the valley.

The launch was all set to happen on 19 April. Anticipation filled the air as everyone waited, but all those waits were pushed further due to the change in weather. Once again, all eyes were glued with excitement until the news broke the nation. Twenty-six lives were lost due to the attack, and India can not afford to lose more. Hence, we will have to wait a little longer.

Due to security reasons, there will be a delay in its launch. Although there are currently no issues on the route, if a war-like situation ever arises, the USBRL (Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link) project will be of great strategic importance to the army.

Meanwhile, the security of the world’s highest rail bridge has also been tightened. Not only that but the rail line between Katra and Srinagar has also been secured further. Authorities have ensured that terrorists cannot damage this railway line. Everything on the site is closely watched to block any suspected entries.

The official launch announcement will have to wait. The Chenab rail bridge, as well as the Anji bridge, are being closely monitored by snipers. Railway police personnel have been deployed on both bridges. According to officials from the Northern Railway, security systems have been tightened, with RPF working in coordination with local police and other security agencies to guard the Chenab Bridge.

The news is a breather, but we still have to wait for the launch in the beautiful Kashmir Valley!
