Farmers-Protest Delhi-CM Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with his deputy Manisha Sisodia and among other AAP leaders and party workers visited Singhu border here this morning to express solidarity with tens of thousands of farmers who are protesting against the centre’s recently passed three farm laws.

Addressing the media from the protest site, the AAP chief said that his party members are trying their best to provide all help and relief to agitating farmers. He also said that the Centre government had planned to put farmers in 'stadium jails', however he denied giving the permission to convert stadiums into jail realizing that holding peaceful protest is a fundamental right of every citizen.

He said that his party fully supports demands of farmers and it will  also support tomorrow’s Bharat Bandh called by farmers. He said that he has reviewed arrangements and by and large farmers are satisfied with arrangements. He said that some issues have been brought in his notice and he will direct officials to solve problems.

We support all demands of farmers. Their issue & demands are valid. My party & I have stood with them from the very beginning. At the beginning of their protests, Delhi Police had sought permission to convert 9 stadiums into jails. I was pressurised but didn't permit: Delhi CM

Our party, MLAs & leaders have been serving farmers as 'sevadars' ever since. I haven't come here as CM but as a 'sevadar'. Farmers are in trouble today, we should stand with them. AAP supports Dec 8th Bharat Bandh, party workers will participate in it across the nation: Delhi CM
