Education Minister calls Kendriya Vidyalayas as ‘pride of country’

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that Kendriya Vidyalayas have been imparting discipline and moral values to the children.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on Thursday said the Kendriya Vidyalayas are the pride of the country. The minister said this after digitally inaugurating the new building of Kendriya Vidyalaya No-3 in Haryana’s Faridabad. He also said that these schools have been imparting discipline and moral values to the children for a long time now.

"Today the buildings of four central schools in the country are being inaugurated simultaneously,” the Union Education minister said while speaking and addressing the audience virtually. 

Amongst the inaugurated schools, two of these are in Odisha, one in Rajasthan and one in Faridabad district of Haryana, he said, according to a statement issued by the Haryana government. 

The Union Minister further said constant efforts are being made to increase the number of students in these schools while making the infrastructure modern and providing students with quality education.

The minister, according to the statement, said the school building which has been dedicated to the people of Faridabad was being demanded since the year 2003-04 and it has been possible now.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a system of premier central government schools in India that is governed under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As of September 2020, a total of 1241 Kendriya Vidyalayas are there in India and three abroad. Founded in 1963, it has one of the world's largest chains of schools.
