A team of special cell has arrested a notorious Kenyan woman drugs supplier Mariam Mweke in Mumbai, police said. She was arrested from Naginpada in Naalasupara East on 29th September.
A resident of Ecily in Nairobi, the 36-year-old has been a fugitive in a case related to the seizure of 7.50 kg heroin from three drug traffickers of African origin.
After jumping the bail in the case about 10 months ago, she had made her hideout in Mumbai and re-indulged in drug trafficking with the help of her other associates. On 07th January 2019, the accused was granted bail by a Delhi court but she jumped bail and evaded further trial proceedings. Efforts were made to trace her, but she remained evasive.
She is even carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on her head in the above case from Delhi Police.
