Good news for sea lovers, Kerala beaches now open for public

The beautiful Kerala beaches are once again open for public travellers after remaining shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Happy news for all beach lovers! The Kerala government has reopened the state beaches from November 1. 

According to reports, in the second phase of unlocking many tourism centres and tourist spots across the state have reopened from November 1. 

On Sunday, November 1 the state celebrated Kerala Day.

In the first phase of unlocking, the state had reopened hill stations, backwater tourism, houseboats and adventure resorts on October 12 with the condition that all COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines must be followed by visitors. 

E M Najeeb, senior vice president, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) said that reopening of beaches will provide new energy and facilitate hotels and resorts located at beaches. After remaining closed for seven months due to covid lockdown, the move will help revive their business and tourism sector in the state.

It will also come as a relief to the localities who would want to spend their time at the beachside to take a break from the current Corona crisis.

Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan had inaugurated as many as 26 key tourism projects in October 2020 in Kerala. 

Kovalam, Varkala, Alleppey and Kannur are some of the gorgeous and most visited beach towns in Kerala.
