The Kerala Story predominantly revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan who gets brainwashed and converted to Islam by the tactic using Love Jihad by ISIS recruiters. Since you have landed on this page, True Scoop News assumes that you have already watched The Kerala Story on Zee5 and are wondering about what happened to Ishak, husband of Shalini Unnikrishnan. Below is everything you need to know about The Kerala Story True Story or The Kerala Story real Ishak played by actor Vijay Krishna-

Who was Ishak?

As shown in the movie, Ishak was the husband of Shalini Unnikrishnan. Ishak married Shalini Unnikrishnan after Rafeeq impregnated her and acted like he had fled the country. After Shalini Unnikrishnan converted to Islam, a Maulavi working for ISIS arranged a Muslim groom for Shalini Unnikrishnan saying that he would marry her and her all sins would be washed away if she went to Syria with him to serve the Khalifa of ISIS. While brainwashed Shalini Unnikrishnan accepts the terms and conditions, she then goes to Afghanistan via Sri Lanka along with Ishak.

Who is 'real-life' Ishak?

The answer is Bexin Vincent. Shalini's real name is Nimisha Sampath, however, after her conversion, she embraced the new name- Fathima Ba or Nimisha Fathima. Nimisha's husband Bexin also converted to Islam and took a new name called Isha. After marrying Nimisha, Isha went to Afghanistan to serve the ISIS. Now, coming to the question of what happened to real-life Ishak, he was killed in a gun battle at Syria Turkey border. The Kerala Story's post-credit scene also confirms it.

Nimisha is among the 21 people who went missing from Kerala between May and July 2016. Among the ‘missing 21’, including six women and three children, were doctors, engineers, and MBA graduates. They had planned their trips very meticulously and the only ‘proof’ they had left back were the messages some of them sent to their families on Telegram, saying they had reached Dawlatul Islam (territories under the control of the Islamic State).

Is The Kerala Story a true story?

The answer is yes. For the unversed, when the trailer was released, the makers called The Kerala Story is based on a true story of 32,000 women who were forcefully converted and were later sent to Islamic countries like Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan as ISIS recruits. However, after uproar on social media, among political parties and even many lawsuits, the makers amended their statement and stated that The Kerala Story is a real story of 3 women with Bollywood actress Adah Sharma portraying the character of Nimisha AKA Fathima Isa. In the movie, Adah Sharma plays the character of Shalini Unnikrishnan.
