In a tragic road accident early Saturday morning, a car and a "Chhota Haathi" mini-truck collided near Gaddana village on the Amritsar-Jalandhar National Highway. The collision was so intense that it claimed the lives of two people and left at least 14–15 others injured.
As per information received, the injured were part of a group of devotees heading to the Radha Soami Satsang Beas for a religious event. The accident occurred around 5:15 AM, when the car, carrying two passengers, collided with the mini-truck packed with devotees.
Kuldeep Singh Bhullar, in charge of the Road Safety Force, confirmed the incident, stating that rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene. “Emergency services shifted the injured to nearby hospitals in Beas and surrounding areas. Traffic was restored after the overturned vehicles were cleared from the highway,” he said.
While the official police statement is awaited, unconfirmed reports suggest that one young girl and another individual have died due to the severity of their injuries. The rest of the injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
