The entire political fraternity of Maharashtra went into shock after an alleged video of senior BJP leader Kirit Somaiya went viral on social media. Kirit Somaiya who has served as the Vice-President of BJP Maharashtra's unit came under the scanner of social media after a Marathi channel named 'Lokshahi' telecasted a video alleging that the person in the video is BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. Now, Kirit Somaiya's video has been breaking the internet and opposition parties are giving strong reactions against him. As per reports, the Marathi news channel 'Lokshahi' claimed possession of the video and ran it in their news package by taking precautionary measures. Kirit Somaiya's viral video was blurred by the news agency as it claimed that the BJP leader was caught in a compromising position with a woman. However, Kirit Somaiya has refused the allegation and appealed to the Deputy CM of Maharashtra to probe the video's authenticity.

During the live show, Kamlesh Sutar, Editor of Lokshahi clarified that he & his team does not intend to breach or invade the privacy of any individual however, they are seeking clarification from Somaiya regarding the video's authenticity and any related complaints. As per reports, Kamlesh Sutar further stated that multiple videos have come to their attention similar to Somaniya. The Marathi news channel stated that the airing of such content may be viewed as an intrusion of privacy, the importance of Somaiya's position within a major political party necessitated addressing any potential surveillance or wrongdoing.

Notably, reacting to Kirit Somaiya's leaked video, NCP leader of Sharad Pawar faction, Vidya Chavan was quoted saying that Kirit Somaiya does not have any moral right to mud-sling at other when he himself has indulged in obscene things. "I personally felt disappointed by the video footage involving Kirit Somaiya. His aggressive behavior and offensive gestures are concerning. As a prominent figure known for exposing corruption, if such misconduct is true, I believe appropriate action should be taken," said Chavan. Furthermore, Mumbai Congress Chief Prof. Varsha Gaikwad took it to her Twitter and expressed her dissatisfaction over the BJP leader's alleged viral video.

The Mumbai Congress Chief wrote, "Disgusted by the video of #KiritSomaiya exposed by a Marathi news channel. The self styled torchbearer of probity in governance has now been exposed. Those whose morals are questionable have been pretending to be arbiters of public morality. On one hand his party talks of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' and on the other its leaders are routinely found to be indulging in immoral behaviour. Time and again, it has been proven that their 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' slogan is nothing but 'Betiyon Ko Bhajpa Netaon Se Bachao'. "

As per reports, Kirit Somaiya has penned a letter to Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and requested him to launch a thorough probe into the matter over the authenticity of the viral video. "A video clip of me was shown on a news channel. Claimed that I have harassed many women & many such video clips available & complaints received against Me..I have never abused any woman..Request ..@Dev_Fadnavis.. to investigate such allegations and verify the authenticity of Videos."
