
Farmers have intensified their protestsas a Kisan Mahapanchayat will be held in Haryana's Karnal on Tuesday, forwhich the government has deployed heavy security as the farmers plan toaggregate and gherao the mini secretariat.
Farmers have aggregated at the Haryana grainmarket in Karnal, from where they will head to gherao the mini secretariat.They have announced breaking through the barricades wherever those have beeninstalled.
The farmers want the Haryana government totake action against those police officers who were involved in lathi chargethat injured several people. They also demanded the suspension of the officerswho directed the police to hit back at farmers who crossed the barricades.
Here’s what will be affected in Haryana
· Mobileinternet services will be suspended from 12:30 pm on Monday to Tuesday midnightto "stop the spread of misinformation and rumours" on social media,according to an order of the Home Department. The order suspending mobileInternet services stated that "to prevent any disturbance of peace andpublic order" here, mobile Internet services (2G/3G/4G/CDMA/GPRS), SMSservices, including bulk SMS (excluding banking and mobile recharge) and alldongle services etc, except voice calling, will remain suspended with effectfrom 12:30 pm on Monday till 11:59 pm on Tuesday.
· Fortycompanies of security personnel, including 10 companies of central paramilitaryforces, have been deployed in the district where local authorities have alsoimposed prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC.
· HaryanaBKU chief Gurnam Singh Chaduni said that they had given a deadline of September6 to the administration to meet their demands. He said a meeting with districtadministration officials was held here on Monday, but after failing to get anysatisfactory response about their demands they decided to hold a big panchayaton Tuesday morning before proceeding to the mini-secretariat to gherao it."We will hold a peaceful protest, but if the administration stops us, thenwe will break barricades," Chaduni told reporters here, adding thatfarmers have no plan to block the national highway.
· Accordingto a Haryana police advisory, National Highway No 44 (Ambala-Delhi) may seesome traffic disruptions in the district on Tuesday. "Therefore, thegeneral public using NH-44 are advised to avoid journey through Karnal town orotherwise use alternate routes to go to their destination on September 7,"it said.
· Withadditional force from neighbouring districts in place, five SP-rank officersand 25 DSP-rank officers will oversee security arrangements here. Drones fittedwith cameras will be mobilised as part of security measures.
· Noone will be allowed to take the law into one's hand, said Karnal DeputyCommissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav.
· Speakingto reporters in Chandigarh, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij appealed to farmersto ensure that the protest is peaceful and the common man is not affected.
· AdditionalDirector General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk said elaboratesecurity arrangements have been made in view of the call for the gherao ofmini-secretariat.
· TheIG Police Karnal Range and all district Superintendents of Police (KarnalRange) have been directed to take necessary preventive and precautionarymeasures to maintain law and order in Karnal and adjoining districts, Virk said.
