The Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan was stopped by customs officials at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport earlier today after the officials found the covers of expensive watches recovered from the actor’s possession.

The actor was returning from Sharjah, where he was invited as the guest of honor for the year’s Sharjah International Book Fair. Based on other media reports the actor had the cover of luxury watches worth Rs. 18 Lakh with him.

Times Now reported that Shah Rukh Khan had to a pay penalty to the tune of Rs. 6.83 Lakh, only after which he was allowed to proceed with his exit from the airport. It is not the first instance when the actor had been stopped at the Mumbai airport.

Back in 2011, he was detained by customs officials for not declaring foreign goods, besides carrying excess baggage and was fined Rs 1.5 Lakh.

In the book fair, he went on to speak about his upcoming film and said he believes that his films will be a super hit. “If I did not have that belief that I am making a product that lots of people are going to like then I won’t be able to do it. So, it’s not an arrogant statement, this is what I like to believe. It’s a child-like belief that looks, I have prepared my best, I have done my best I am going to pass with flying colors,” Shah Rukh Khan was quoted saying by multiple media organizations.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is prepping for the release of Pathaan alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham which will hit the big screens on January 25, 2023. Along with that Shah Rukh also has Jawan and Dunki lined up ahead.
