Yesterday late-night Punjab government’s home department releaseda list of transfers of six top IPS officers of Punjab before giving the additionalcharge of DGP to Gaurav Yadav. But, after some time the list was taken back.Here is the reason for the same.
After DGP, the Punjab government has now changed the SpecialDG Intelligence. Pramod Kumar of the 1989 batch who was the head of theIntelligence department is now replaced. Jitendra Aulakh is now given thecharge for the same.
The speculation that is coming up is that as IntelligenceDepartment is the key department of our state, so the head of the samedepartment should be of a DG rank instead of being at a lower rank and maybethis is the main reason why the transfer list was taken back last night.
There is also hope that the Punjab government will releaseanother list today which can bring a huge change in the Police department ofPunjab.
The new acting DGP, Gaurav Yadav will take up the charge inno time soon and will do some of the changes required according to himself.
