Know what happened after Guru Ravidas Temple priest got murdered on the Punjab Poll day

On Sunday morning, Thoda Ram, a Ravidas temple priest, was murdered in the Bhojraj hamlet of the Dera Baba Nanak assembly seat in the Kalanaur district of Punjab's Gurdaspur.

An iron rod was used to beat him in the head by the attackers. Following the tragedy, the locals declared a voting boycott.
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, and Home Minister is the Congress contender for the Dera Baba Nanak assembly seat, which is located in the Gurdaspur district. The villagers are currently terrified and determined in their demand for the priest's killers to be apprehended. SSP Nanak Singh and DC Mohammad Ishfaq arrived at the scene after witnessing the growing controversy.

The residents of Bhojraj village told officials that they would not vote until those responsible for the priest's death were held to account. Satpal Singh, a member of the Zilla Parishad and a representative of Guru Ravidas Bhavan, stated that when the priest was worshipping in the small Ram temple this morning, some unknown individuals killed him by beating him in the head with an iron rod. The police were alerted after the panic spread throughout the village.


A big number of security forces, including SSP Nanak Singh, DC Mohammad Ishfaq, and others, arrived at the scene. They have taken the priest's body into their possession and have begun further action. DC has attempted to persuade the residents. He urged the residents of the village to vote.
