Know why IIT Madras is introducing Tech MBA program for its undergraduate students

The aim of the program is to induce the engineering students with business acumen, management skills and to improve the decision-making ability of an individual

IIT-Madras Tech-MBA Engineering

The Madras IIT institute summoned a Tech MBA program for its students of under-graduation including it in all the engineering streams. The students graduating from the institute starting from 2020 will receive two certificates i.e. Engineering UG degree and the Master degree in Management. 

The dual degree will be a program of 5 years and is being made part of Inter-Disciplinary Dual Degree.

This brilliant idea was given by the Department of Management Studies of IIT Madras. The practice of the course will be started with the batch 2019-2020 with 25-30 students. 

The CGPA will be the criteria for earning the eligibility to study the course which also includes the departmental aptitude test and a personal interview.  

 In an interview, G. Arun Kumar, Head, Department of Management Studies of IIT Madras said, “We believe techMBA program would be a trendsetter academically and a game-changer professionally. We look forward to collaborating with the far-sighted corporations to invest our energies in the development of the next generation millennial talent founded on the pillars of technological depth, managerial breadth, and business wisdom.”
