Nirmal Das, an 89-year-old Covid positive man from Kolkata donates his body for research. He was a cancer patient. He was tested positive before his death.
Nirmal decided to donate his body for further research to the forensic department of RG Kar Medical College on Saturday. Nirmal was a resident of the New Town area in Kolkata.
"Nirmalbabu's body will be donated to the forensic department of RG Kar Medical College on Saturday," said an official.
According to the health department bulletin, the number of fresh cases tally in the disease in the state rose to 19,86,667. The city registered 481 fresh cases and 34 fatalities which pushed the toll to 20,515.
