Popular Indian actor and producer Rajesh Kumar was rejected from Shark Tank, he left his acting career, decided to become a farmer and sold vegetables as well.

Famous Indian Actor and producer Rajesh Kumar is known for playing the role of popular characters in famous television serials like Baa Bahoo Aur Baby and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. During an interview, he opened up about the struggles he faced in his life. 

In the interview, Rajesh shared that he went to Shark Tank but got rejected. He said, “I had applied for Shark Tank India. I had cleared two out of three rounds. You also had to submit your videos, so I thought, I might get a favor because I am a known face. That here is an actor, who is a social entrepreneur talking about agriculture. My presentation was in Kolkata and it was wrapped within a day. My father paid for the tickets.”

Rajesh hails from Gaya, Bihar. He married Madhavi Chopra in 2004. Currently, he lives with his family in Mumbai. When he was of 41-year-old, he decided to take farming as his profession because he believed that this profession served for the greater purpose for life. He tried to start a business but unfortunately his plan did not work and then he had to sell vegetables. 

In the interview, he said, “In 2017, I went back to my village from where I started. Aur waha par meri zameen thi (I had a piece of land there) and I told him I wanted to become a farmer. My father thought 2-3 mahine ka bhoot hai (my father thought I will soon change my plan) but it went on. And I totally gave in, and my family supported.”

“After the start-up failed, I start to sell vegetables outside my son's school. It made people think, 'He has gone mad. Why is he selling vegetables?' It happened so that when my son saw me selling vegetables outside his school, he went to his teachers and said, 'Would you please buy vegetables from my dad?' He was in third grade at that time. Then all of his classmates went to different classrooms to inform them I was selling vegetables, and requested the teachers to buy it from me,” he further added.

After his start-up plan failed, he decided to get back to his acting career and then he was seen in the second season of the popular series titled Kota Factory which is available on Netflix.
