Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday addressed the press conference for the first time after he his Lok Sabha membership was disqualified by Secretariat after he awarded with 2-year jail term by Court in the Modi surname case. However, Rahul Gandhi's press conference did not go well when he lost his calm at a reporter who simply asked him questions about his 2-year jail term in the Modi Surname case. Infact, the now-disqualified Congress MP accused the reporter of working hand-in-hand with the Centre and the ruling BJP party. Nor, Rahul Gandhi vs reporter video is going viral on social media with netizens commenting their own opinion.

In the video, the reporter pointed out that the BJP is alleging that you have disrespected people belonging to OBCs and therefore they are planning to hold a press conference against you, what you will said on this? The question did no go down well with Rahul Gandhi and he angrily said, "Bhaiya dekhiye pehla aapka attempt wahan se aaya, dusra aapka attempt yahan se aaya, teesra aapka attempt yahan se aaya. Aap directly BJP ke liye kyu kaam kar rahe ho? (Brother first you tried to ask me the question from there (direction), secondly from here and then again from here. Why are working for the BJP in so much direct manner?) Thodi discreation see karo yaar (Do it with discretion). Please if you want to work for the BJP then bring a BJP flag symbol here and put it at your chest. Then, I will answer you the same way I answer them. Don't pretend to be a pressman." The former Wayanad MP then proceeded to smirk at the journalist who had questioned him and asked him 'Hawa Nikaal Di?' ('Have I punctured you?')

Then, on the very next and final question in the briefing, when asked about what he thinks of BJP demanding an apology from him over his UK speech and in the court over his 'Modi surname' defamation conviction, Rahul Gandhi said, "Rahul Gandhi thinks his name is not Savarkar. My name is Gandhi and Gandhi never apologises."

For the unversed, Rahul Gandhi was disqualified as a member of Parliament on Friday, a day after he was found guilty in a defamation case by a lower court. The disqualification of Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president, is seen as one of the highest profile disqualifications of a sitting lawmaker in the country. Gandhi "stands disqualified from the membership of Lok Sabha", a parliament notice said, from his date of conviction. As per the law, an elected representative sentenced for any offence for two years or more faces immediate disqualification under the Representation of People Act, 1951.
