In a bizarre development, a woman from Lahore was saved by an angry mob for wearing a kurta with Arabic prints. As per reports, hundreds of people surrounded a restaurant in Lahore where a woman was sitting with her husband wearing a yellowish Kurta with Arabic prints. Notably, the angry Pakistani mob mistakenly thought that the Arabic verses were Quran verses, and therefore they accused the innocent woman of blasphemy. Pakistan has already witnessed angry mobs stoning people to death on charges of blasphemy without checking facts. The angry Islamic mob even started to chant 'Sar Tan Se Juda' (beheading for blasphemy).

However, a woman ASP came to the resume of the woman. In the viral video, the ASP named Sheherbano can be seen addressing the mob. ASP Sheherbano tried to calm the crowd and asked them to have faith in the law and the Police. Thereafter, the ASP took the woman along with her in front of the mob who were chanting Sar Tan Se Juda.

Pakistan's Punjab Police took to its X handle and lauded Sheherbano for rescuing the woman from the mob.  IG Punjab (Pakistan) Dr. Usman Anwar on X wrote, "ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, the brave SDPO of Gulbarg Lahore, put her life in danger to rescue a woman from a violent crowd. For this heroic deed, the Punjab Police has recommended her name for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (QPM), the highest gallantry award for law enforcement in Pakistan."

Another video was shared on X by a Pakistani journalist who slammed the cops for making the woman apologize despite the fact she did not insult the Quran.
