Last-minute changes in Channi’s Cabinet; Randip Singh Nabha replaces Kuljit Nagra

Just an hour before swearing-in ceremony, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi had made some last-minute changes in the final list of Cabinet Ministers.


As per information, four-time MLA from Amloh, Randip Singh Nabha has been inducted into the cabinet in place of Kuljit Nagra.


The new cabinet ministers will be taking oath today at 4.30pm in Chandigarh. Those taking oath include Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Brahm Mahindra, Manpreet Singh Badal, Vijayinder Singla, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Rana Gurjit Singh, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Razia Sultana, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Pargat Singh, Raj Kumar Verka, Bharat Bhushan Aashu, Aruna Chaudhary, Randip Singh and Gurkirat Singh Kotli.


Meanwhile, five of Captain Amarinder close aides have lost their cabinet seats. The ministers who have been reportedly dropped include - Sunder Sham Arora, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Rana Gurmit Sodhi and Gurpreet Singh Kangar.

Besides, a section of Congress MLAs from Doaba region have opposed induction of Rana Gurjit Singh in the cabinet and demanded a Dalit leader in his place. However, if sources are to be believed, this demand of Congress MLAs is reportedly ignored by CM Channi, and despite objections Rana Gurjit will take oath as Cabinet Minister today.
