In protest against the demolition of the Latifpura houses by the Improvement Trust, farmers and residents of Latifpura have announced to block of the National Highway and Railway Lines near Dhanowali. The NH and Railway Lines will be blocked from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm on 16th January 2023.
Earlier also, farmers’ organizations and residents blocked the highway near PAP for about 3 hours. On that day they stated that neither the government nor any official has come forward to solve their problem. Post this, they announced blocking the highway and railway line on 16th January as well.
On 9th December 2022, around 700 officials from Improvement Trust left 50 families homeless after demolishing all the houses of the area. They stated that the land belonged to Improvement Trust and demolished houses were built there illegally.
