Letitia Wright hospitalized after accident on set of 'Black Panther' sequel

“Black Panther” star Letitia Wright has been hospitalized after she attained minor injuries on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Black Panther star Letitia Wright has been hospitalized after she attained minor injuries while performing stunts on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A Marvel spokesman told media, “Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'. 

She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon.”

Production of the Black Panther sequel is based in Atlanta and the film shooting was happening in Boston and was scheduled overnight. For now, there is no change in the schedule of the shooting. 

Wright is reprising her role as Shuri in 'Wakanda Forever', the genius inventor and younger sister to T'Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman. The film is being directed by Ryan Coogler and shooting was begun in June 2021. The film also stars Daniel Kaluuya, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Michaela Coel, and more.

The first Black Panther was released in the year 2018 and was the first superhero film to be nominated in Oscars for the Best Film. 

Meanwhile, Letitia Wright is also seen in Avengers series including ‘Avenger: Infinity Wars’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

It is expected that the sequel of Black Panther would be released on 8th July 2022. The plot and cast information are being kept under wraps, although the major cast members are likely to return for the sequel to the Oscar-nominated film.

Earlier, it was announced that Dominique Thorne, who will portray the up-and-coming superhero Ironheart in her own Disney+ Hotstar TV series, will be introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” ahead of her TV debut. On the other hand, British star Michaela Coel, who created and starred in ‘I May Destroy You’, would join the cast in an unknown role.

For now, there is no update about the health of Wright but it is expected that she would be released from the hospital on Thursday.
