Licenses of 263 travel agents-IELTS centres cancelled in Jalandhar, know why

Their licenses have been cancelled under the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act 2014.

In the latest development, Jalandhar’s DC Jaspreet Singh has taken strict action against the travel agents and IELTS centres who are not running the business legally. Total licenses of 263 travel agents-IELTS centers have been cancelled with immediate effect and check on others is underway.

Reportedly on Saturday, Jalandhar DC ordered to cancel licenses of 263 travel agents-IELTS centres for not responding to the show cause notice issued to them. As per information, these travel agents and IELTS centers were asked for their monthly reports about business done and if any complaint was registered against them but no response came from their side. Post this, government issued a show-cause notice against them but they did not even respond to this. Due to their unresponsive behavior, their licenses were cancelled.

Last year also, licenses of 495 travel agents-IELTS centres were cancelled out of 1320. Licenses all of all these travel agents-IELTS centres are being cancelled under the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act 2014.
