Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday fired first response after getting arrested by the Enforcement Directoariate (ED). AAP Supremo & Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED on Thursday night in the alleged liquor policy scam case. AAP leaders like Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain have already been arrested in the same case. Amid the poltical turmoil and uproar by the opposition I.N.D.I.A block, Arvind Kejriwal was present to the Rose Avenue Court by the ED. When the ED was taking Delhi CM to the court, he made a brief interaction with the media. Below is what Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said-
"My life is dedicated to the country, whether I am inside (jail) or outside."
For the unversed, ED has claimed, "By acts of corruption and conspiracy… a continuous stream of illegal funds in the form of kickbacks from the wholesalers was generated for AAP. Further, and her associates were to recover the proceeds of crime paid in advance to AAP and to further generate profits/proceeds of crime from this entire conspiracy."
Presenting Arvind Kejriwal to court, ED stated that the Delhi CM was directly involved in the formation of the excise policy. ED further said that the CM Kejriwal is the key conspirator and kingpin in demanding kickbacks from liquor businessmen. ED is seeking Delhi CM's 10-day custody remand. The hearing is still underway (while writing).
