
Amritsar Airport, Amritsar Airport Flight Services Disruption, Amritsar Airport AQI Flight Delayed: Punjab and its surrounding areas have been witnessing an alarming rise in the AQI index for the past few days. Despite multiple efforts by the state governments of Punjab and Haryana, the Air Quality Index (AQI) of multiple cities of these states continues to remain under the Very Poor category. In fact, on Tuesday evening, Chandigarh's Air Quality became the second most polluted air. Hence, Punjab has been witnessing smog due to worsening AQI. Recently, Kashmir got its first snowfall and hence, Punjab on late Tuesday night registered zero visibility due to dense fog. As a result, many flight services were impacted.
As per CPCB, Amritsar QI Today was 284 i..e under 'Poor Category'. Due to a blanket of smog and fog, many flight services were disrupted from the Amritsar International Airport. True Scoop News tried to dig more about the schedule of flights that took off or were expected to take off on Wednesday from Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport. As per reports, an IndiGo flight from Delhi's IGI airport to Amritsar, scheduled to take off at 8pm on Tuesday, was cancelled due to low visibility. A flight from Amritsar to Delhi scheduled for 11pm was also cancelled.
IndiGo in a statement on X clarified, "Due to unfavourable weather conditions, flights to/from Amritsar are currently getting impacted. We understand the importance of your travel plans and want to ensure you're fully informed."
