
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam started presenting herthird budget. It is an extremely significant budget, as per experts due toCovid-19 and loss of jobs and rising inflation and the opposition leaders are creatinga ruckus in the background to mark their protest against contentious farm laws.
Finance minister said the risk of not having a lockdownwas far too high. About vaccines to prevent Covid-19, FM said India has twovaccines to fight against Covid-19.
She said the Atmanirbhar package announced by thegovernment was like five mini budgets. Sitharaman said the budget is preparedin circumstances like never before. Only three time in the past, the budgetfollowed a contraction and this time it is due to the pandemic.
Sitharaman said Atmanirbhar Bharat is a reflection of 130Cr Indians. Finance minister added that total Rs 64,180 Crore will be spent to improve primary, secondary and tertiaryhealthcare.
As expected the Finance Minister started her speech byaddressing concerns about Covid-19 and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
