Chandigarh, August 14: The Punjab Government has selected eminent personalities who have done exceptional work in various fields of their expertise and those who have done commendable work during the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be awarded the Punjab Government State award 2021.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab government, the persons selected for this honour include Mr. Mandeep Singh son of Mr. Harnek Singh, village Khema Khera, district Sri Muktsar Sahib in the category of 'Bravery'.
In the category of ‘Professional Experts’ ,Mr Ashok Kumar Mittal Founder Chancellor Lovely Professional university, Mr. Harpreet Singh Sandhu, Writer and Photographer, Gurdev Nagar, Ludhiana. Dr. Jasleen Kewalani Assistant Professor (Sociology), Model Town, Patiala, Mr. Harpreet Singh Dardi, Journalist, Chardi Kala Time TV, Patiala Miss Saisha Khanna Daughter of Mr. Arvind Khanna, Ghumman Nagar, Patiala.
For Literature (Poet and Storyteller), Mr. Rahul Kumar son of Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma (Poet and Storyteller) , Mr. Malkiat Singh Aujla son of Mr. Sital Singh, Chandigarh Mrs. Sunita Sabharwal, Sevak Colony, Patiala in the category of Literature (Poet and Storyteller).
For social service, Dr. Vaneet Sehgal Sehgal Neuro and Child Care Center, Amritsar, Mr. Premjit Singh son of Mr. Jagtar Singh, Ruda Patti, Dhaula, District Barnala ,Mr. Sukhdeep Singh, President, Mohali Welfare Club, Mohali, Dr. Mamta Sharma University Campus, Punjabi University Patiala , Mr. Brindar Singh son of Mr. Balwant Singh, village Mastipal, District Hoshiarpur ,Mr. Hari Om Jindal, Advocate, Ludhiana, Mr. Mahesh Inder Bansal( Aam Aadmi Welfare Trust, Patiala ).
For commendable work during COVID-19 pandemic Mr Daravjit Singh on behalf of Samarpan welfare society Bathinda, Mr. Manpreet Singh Superintendent Punjab civil Secretariat, Mr. Jasminder Pal Singh, Senior Consultant , Mr. Balwinder Singh PPS, Mr. Gagandeep Singh, son Mr. Baldev Singh, senior sepoy, and Mr. Tarsem Kapoor son of late Shri Ram Kishore Kapoor, Dr. Girish Dogra Senior Medical Officer, Incharge Covid Testing, SAS Nagar and Dr. Seema Garg, District Immunization Officer, Hoshiarpur has been selected.
Recognizing the assistance provided by the Western Command of the Indian Army ( GOC in C and all ranks) Punjab Government has decided to honour their immense contribution in the fight against the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Similarly Shri Rashpal Malhotra who was the Founder of the Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) and noted scholar and Shri Gurcharan Singh Channi also known as G.S Channi was a documentary maker, TV filmmaker, actor, eminent theatre personality, playwright and activist based in Chandigarh will also be bestowed state honours for their invaluable contribution in their respective fields.

The official spokesperson further said that these personalities would be awarded Gold Medal, Shawl and Certificate (Framed) signed by the Chief Secretary, Punjab to be awarded with Certificate / 2021 of Punjab Government.
The Punjab state awards 2021 will be bestowed at a later date which shall be intimated to the awardees subsequently.
