Ludhiana: Great step for physically disabled women, VRC to provide training

Overall, 2.21% of Indian population has one or the other kind of disability. This means 2.68 crore (26.8 million) people in India are disabled.

Vocational Rehabilitation Center (VRC) Ludhiana provides Punjabi shorthand training to disabled girls/women for which an interview has been scheduled on June 21, 2022, at 10 am.

Disclosing this here today an official of the Vocational Rehabilitation Center (VRC) Braille Bhawan, Jamalpur, Ludhiana said that the Punjab Government had decided to help the disabled girls to stand on their own feet.  Punjabi shorthand training was imparted to the disabled girls/women of the class. 

 He said that the interview for admission to Punjabi shorthand training had been scheduled for June 21, 2022, at 10 am.


 He said that the duration of this course would be one year and this course would start in July 2022.  He further said that during the training the trainees are also given a stipend of Rs. 1500 / - per month.  

Apart from this, there is a free hostel and cooperative mess for the trainees and on completion of the course, a certificate is also given by the department.
