Ludhiana ASI rams & drags two Punjab Cops eating ice cream for over 15 meters; One dead

In a shocking development, an ASI in Ludhiana rammed & dragged two Punjab Police personnel having ice-cream on late Saturday night. The ASI who was said to be drunk hit two police personnel posted at PCR on the roadside with his car. ASI dragged both of them for about 15 meters with the car. As a result, one policeman died on the spot after coming under the tyre of the car, while the other's leg was broken. The deceased has been identified as Head Constable Akashdeep Singh. His colleague ASI Satnam Singh is undergoing treatment at DMC Hospital. Immediately after the incident, the police team arrested the accused Balwinder Singh.

As per reports, ASI Balwinder Singh is posted in Police Station Division Number 2. He was coming from Jalandhar Bypass at around 12:30 last night. In a drunken state, Balwinder Singh hit both the policemen. Hearing their screams, people from nearby areas reached the spot. They chased and caught ASI Balwinder Singh.

The accused ASI was in civil dress at the time of the accident. After this, people immediately informed the Salem Tabri police station. When the Police reached the spot, Akashdeep Singh and Satnam Singh were lying there soaked in blood. Both were immediately rushed to the civil hospital. There the doctors declared Akashdeep Singh dead after checkup.

As per reports, Akashdeep Singh was the father of 3 children. Akashdeep Singh was on duty at night. The accused Balwinder Singh was heavily drunk. The accused said that he did not know how the accident happened. Akashdeep had joined the Punjab Police in 2009.
