Ahead of monsoon season, the civic officials are told to ensure cleaning in underpasses and old drains where people complained about deep water logging in the city during the rainy season.
Three underpasses fall in zone D area where people complained about deep water logging every rainy season. These underpasses are located near Lodhi Club, Verka Milk Plant and in Sarabha Nagar.
The underpass near Lodhi Club in BRS Nagar and another one opposite Verka Milk plant at Ferozepur Road gets flooded with rain water. The cars get stuck in the water most of the time. However, the third underpass is part of ROB/RUB at Pakhowal Road and has become functional recently.

Damoria Bridge is yet another point where deep water logging takes place but last year MC had taken out pipes from this drain and there was no problem then. The officials are once again cleaning the drain that was full of garbage. The machines are sent inside the drain to clean it thoroughly.
Amol Sharma Resident in Sarabha Nagar says, " This is a great step as waterlogging in Ludhiana causes discomfort among residents. Cleaning drains and waste management should be priority before monsoons".
