Ludhiana DAV School: Class 1 girl loses eyesight after classmate pokes pencil; family members stage protest against school

The family alleges that the class teacher told their daughter not to tell that the pencil was stuck in her eye.

Shocking news has come to the fore from Ludhiana where a student of DAV School got injured as one of her classmates poked a pencil into her eye. The victim’s family staged a protest against the careless behavior of school management. The school administration instead of getting the girl treated, she was sent to her home. This angered the acquaintances of the girl as they held a demonstration outside the school.

Reportedly, the victim has been identified as Shanaya Sood who is a student of class 1. As she went to school, one of her classmates allegedly poked a pencil into her eye after which the girl started moaning in pain. Post this, the girl was sent home where she complained of not being able to see things properly. Later, she was taken to an eye specialist by her parents.

The father has stated that according to the doctor due to this incident, the pupil of the girl’s eye has got burst because of this she has lost her sight and will have to go through an operation. Even after the operation, the condition of the girl has seen no improvement. The operation was carried out at DMC hospital.

Now, the school administration is clarifying saying that they took the girl to the hospital after which she was sent home, but the family alleges that nothing like this happened. The Father of the girl alleged that management was totally careless about the incident after the pencil got poked in her eye no action was taken instead was sent to home. Furthermore, the family alleges that the class teacher told their daughter not to tell that the pencil was stuck in her eye.

The police have asked the family members for 24 hours. ACP Ashok says that it is necessary to save the girl's eye first. When the school managers wanted to know the side of the matter, they refused to say anything. It is also alleged that the police are pressurizing the family not to register the case.
