This confirmed case takes the total number of positive cases in the city to 6 including a patient from Jalandhar admitted here. So far, Ludhiana has recorded one death from Covid-19.
 
Tablighi Jamaat attendee is 35-yera-old-man, resident of Rajgarh village in Ludhiana district. On March 23, he returned to his place from Jamaat's congregation held in Delhi and later went to Hyderabad. 

On Saturday night, he was taken away by a medical team and admitted to the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana.

Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga confirmed the development and said that samples of eight people from the patient's family including his mother, father, wife, two children, two sisters and one brother have also been sent for testing.

All of them are admitted to the Civil Hospital and have been quarantined.

Currently, Punjab state tally now stands at 68, with six reported deaths.
