A fire broke out at a clothing store in Punjab’s Ludhiana, Char Khamba Road, Model Town, Friday morning.
The massive smoke created problems for the firemen to douse the flames completely. It was a narrow escape for workers in the showroom. A sudden short circuit in wires is said to be the cause behind the incident.
The incident occurred at around 10am. The flames started from the ground floor. While the shop owner and his employees also tried to douse the flames, they were unable to control the blaze which intensified in a short time. Employees then rushed out to save their lives. Most of the stock of expensive branded clothes worth lakhs was gutted.
The police faced a tough time in managing the crowd as people gathered there and started making videos on their mobile phones.
